In the Middle of a Wheat Field
By: Cassandra Green
I close my eyes and I can see a vast open field of wheat.
When the sun shines, the reeds seem to glow in shimmers of yellow and gold. Warmth tethers with a breeze, bringing refreshment and a depth to each breath.
In cooler seasons, as winter prevails, every dry wisp is covered in snow and foggy morning dew. Clouds frame the horizon draping each mountain top, humid air freezes fallen leaves, keeping quiet, still paths company.
As I process 2019, I recognize value in the valley and find vision for 2020.
I realize that in every aspect of life, I have a warmth from within, a fire I can’t describe that only comes from Jesus. I know the valley is good, and I have seen that the field of wheat is beautiful in every phase. Every incline is meant to renew tired muscles and grow fierce faith. I can both grow and rest in every season.
It’s a promise for you too
We can grow in good soil and breathe fresh air. We are free. This past year didn’t re-define our future, but it did refine us for the future. We can walk freely and confidently, knowing our help comes from Jesus and we are marked for healing and miracles.
I’m leaving 2019 expectant for adventure and hopeful for a little mischief as well. That’s what this blog is all about. It’s a new season where we can both reflect and move forward. Where we can both grow and rest. Where we can walk this journey together and fight the good fight, and know it’s worth it.
You’re worth it. So, Cheers!
Cheers to a new year, a refreshed vision and to keep writing one word after the next.
