Clouds Shaped Like Dragons

I close my eyes and remember

Clouds shaped like dragons

Sprinkled by time and imaginings

She was a dream that only dreams could dream

Like laughter mixed with the slow echo of eternity

Like ebony tracing the curves of a grand piano

Or the scent of winter dipped in dark chocolate and

An unrequited yearning to be loved but to never love

Because time is so brutally telling

It can snap one back to reality

Where summer brings wide open skies

And storms are hidden within

Lightning can only pierce the heart

Thunder weaken a pulse

But life goes on and all she does is smile
