Held Together By Spirit and Bone

Sitting here. “There For You” by Flyleaf plays in my mind. Sometimes songs pop in my head and it usually has to do with how I’m feeling or something I’m learning. Other times it’s simply a song that’s a bit of an anthem for the moment. This song pulls me back to a place of longing and surrender.
It reminds me that life is fragile and intention is not action, but passion is still part of the heart. I can release all my worries and thoughts and concerns to rest in a moment, because life is about so much more. It’s about the lyrics, but it’s also about the music and the untangling of motive, stripping relationships down to the core.
Why?
And for what?
For the touch and the care. For the processing and the cure. For the connection and lack of it at times. For the soul and it’s tie and everything in between.
You don’t have to hold on all the time. You can release and let go, but realize you’re still held together by spirit and bone. You’re still living and breathing within time, but kissed by something timeless and eternal.
You don’t always have to try so hard. And you don’t have to feel tied to the things that you feel tied to. It isn’t about the sheets and the curtains or the sandals on your feet. It’s about the way you take your next step.
Open the notebook. Let the page be blank for a moment. Take a deep breath.
Quiet.
Stillness.
A guitar plays in the background. Write. Transcend. Reach for the purpose set before you.
