Now is the Time

Getting back to the basics for me means not waiting for the “right time” to start. It means starting a little bit at a time right where I am in multiple areas of my life. It means pursuing my relationship with God and developing my prayer life and how I study the bible. It means writing as much as I can. Whether that means, journaling for self-care or blogging daily, it doesn’t matter as much as it’s about the pursuit. The pursuit for health and fitness. The pursuit for mindfulness and care. The pursuit and treasure in seeking and finding something that may or may not have been there, but now it is. It’s about the pursuit in so many ways.

I’m pursuing life and myself differently. I’m following wisdom a little more closely in the small moments and not so much the “profound” moments if that makes sense. I’m not planning quite so much as I’m embracing life for what it is and appreciating it. I slowed down this week because I had the luxury too, but I also realize that it isn’t about down time. It’s about every time.

Every time I choose to take care of myself or invest in a loved one. Every time I notice the needs around me or in myself. Every time I look the person I’m with in the eyes and really listen. It’s about every time and all the time and making significant time.

You’re worth the time. The people around you are worth the time and if they aren’t, that’s another conversation, but I think you know what I’m getting at. Take the time and pursue all the right things, get back to the basics and don’t wait for the right time, just do it. Do it right now in any capacity and whatever way that changes things for the better. Do it in a way that makes you stretch, but also rest. Choose the right things in a way that makes you feel at peace from the inside out without the affirmation of others. Do it and practice it so you grow into it.
