What do I want to say to you?

What do I want to say to you? Life is urgent and your decisions matter today. We see days, but we may not have tomorrow. We have plans, but sometimes the greatest joy comes from going with the flow. What I thought could be, was replaced by what was and in the end, that’s what kept things moving and I’m thankful for each step that kept moving. And I’m thankful for the random things that showed me things. There is joy in unexpected places.

What are you clinging to that’s holding you back? What are you about to quit that you need to keep working toward? In what ways are you limiting yourself? What area of your life do you need encouragement? What part of your art needs magic fed to it? It’s there. You’ve got it. Close your eyes. Stomp around a little. Pace the options, then hunker down. Fight for it. Make a mess and start trying new things. What are some ways you can try new things?

What do I want to say to you? You’re not stuck.

I want to tell you that you’re a work of art and only you can do what you can do. You’re not limited. I want to hand you a paint brush just to see what you’ll do with it. I want to put a puppy in your hands so you’ll slow down and tug on a rope for a minute. I want to take a walk with you and end up laying in the grass just to hold onto a moment. I want to take that moment and remind you who you are.

Would you come along if all we had was the sunset to run toward and it was barely dawn? What would you do if I knocked on your door, stole your shoes and ran? Would you take my hand if I told you we had a mountain to climb today? Would you dare take the first step if I said we had a race to win tonight?

My friend, we have mountains to climb. Are you ready? Would you join me on a dirt road that seemed to go on forever? We have eternity to run toward. Can you feel it? We have rooms to paint, songs to create, and beats to syncopate. We have life to roam and plans to plunder.

I have no intention of turning around. I sense the challenge and I’m not backing down. I have things to do, rooms to pack, life to organize, items to throw out so I can live a little lighter. I don’t need all the things they say I do. You’re not lacking. Grab what you have and make use of it. It’s time. Time to hammer the nail into the foundation and build the life you’ve been wanting to build.

Get determined and a little dirty. Let yourself fail. Give yourself room to reset. Crank the music and hype yourself up in all the resilience you can muster. What do you want? Go for it. Just do it. Start taking the steps you need to take right now. Work toward it and be thankful in the midst of it.

Do you need more, more questions, ponderings and creativity? Do you need to get out of your comfort zone? Whatever you need, don’t stop now. Find it and go for it. Can’t find it? Keep looking.
