Silhouette

The shadow of a tree burning black against a burning, fading sky. I know that pictures like this aren’t meant for me. The Creator must have drawn this scene for someone else, someone nearby, someone with a righteous heart who, smiling kindly through the day, has been blessed to end their evening with this picturesque view.
Of course.
This beauty is theirs, whoever they are. I just happen to be caught in it; I never smiled for it, never purified my heart. This painting of pale violet waters, this crimson sun—I hope it reflects the beauty of whoever it’s meant for.
Because it’s nice, knowing that some nice people still exist in the world…
Nice knowing that all people aren’t darkened silhouettes of sin like me.
